One Chance....

What is that you maybe see,
But just casually ignore?
It's trying to get to you,
Trying to find a way to your impenetrable core.

Yes, it's a dim flicker,
It's a colourful light.
It keeps blinking and blinking;
Desperate; struggling at hindsight.

You, the prestigious streetlamp,
Are every flicker's lifelong desire.
They have to prove themselves;
You test them through ice and fire.

That flicker is ready for hardships;
Just give it a chance!
It is going to give the best;
First, escape your blinding trance!

You have been biased,
Favouring the one not duller.
But don't you get it,
It's just plain bright; has no colour!

Good 'colour' always attracts,
No matter what its brightness is.
After all, if a flicker is talented,
Fame comes, don't forget this!

Our 'colour' excels in convincing,
The 'bright' one in bicker.
But still, you prefer only one,
And snub the hurt flicker.

Don't you see the talent,
Waiting for its grand unveiling?
Waiting for you to notice,
What many other lamps have found healing.

Here's something unknown:
That dim flicker still respects you.
After everything you've done to break it,
It gathers the fragments of courage, to just do.

Why are you so deaf,
To its never-ending pleas and cries?
It's desperate for the recognition,
In your ever-testing eyes.

That dim flicker has been advised,
To give up and live free.
But how can it just relax,
When its passion doesn't cease to be?

The 'colour' tried to show you,
Its many a unique trait and quality.
Somehow you always reject it...
Whatever happened to equality?

You've scorched its glowing heart;
Today, shredded it somewhat.
But as long as it remains optimistic,
It's going to keep struggling deep inside a lot.

Please, I beg you, clear thy dense fog!
That which surrounds you, it's blinding.
Soon it's going to be too late,
And that young flicker would have started hiding.

You may never know it;
That stubborn flicker could be the next big star!
I believe one chance it truly deserves,
To change its destiny, and go far, far, far...
