Those Brown Eyes (That Girl)

Born in a family of modernised parents,
That baby girl was as fair as snow;
Her lips peachy pink with eyes dark brown;
Her innocent face had a unique rosy glow

Father’s bundle of joy,
He gave her an extraordinarily special name;
Mother’s prized secret,
She knew, her daughter was gonna earn a heck of Fame.

That toddler girl had those curious little brown eyes...
She rarely spoke, the world was that captivating to her.
Everyone loved her; people came from afar to see,
The first-born of the doting father and mother.

That girl grew in grace and beauty.
With time, developed brains anew.
The lust for the marvellous world,
In those brown eyes, was scarily true.

Finally, that girl went with those excited brown eyes…
To a place filled with adventure and mystery.
‘School’ it was called; fun times flew by.
Soon, those days were a history.

That girl came to another kingdom leaving that wonderland behind.
The fervour in her brown eyes still as fresh and innocent.
Many hopes and expectations she had;
Little did she know… all her fantasies were bound to be bent.

That girl found a mountain, tried to survive.
A year passed somehow, amidst the freezing ice.
Her heart kept bleeding with loneliness, till…
She felt an increasing warmth in her brown eyes that seemed nice.

That girl’s passion for friends melted the cold away,
And started a river, raging and full of life.
Many a people those cheerful brown eyes befriended…
But betrayal awaited, and stabbed her with a pointed knife.

Alone, with nowhere to go and take her dying heart,
She found comfort and solace in a funny brown-eyed gal.
Wheels of time turned, Besties they became…
On the way, made many another pal.

That girl’s life was perfect, everything she had;
Brains, beauty and a growing number of friends-
Some at the mountain and some at the plains of school…
The hope in those brown eyes had limitless ends.

Suddenly, a storm came; the mountain withstood it.
But… the jungle there could not.
Those confused brown eyes found themselves stuck,
Between the old and the new jungle-mate lot.

Eventually, she and the bear learnt survival…
And a year or so passed surrounded by calm and joy.
But those brown eyes could never have been prepared,
For love at the first sight of a charming boy.

That girl was irked by his very presence,
He was too… So they continuously fought.
365 days passed; troubled, she searched deep within…
Surprisingly unconditional love for him was what she got!

One jealous mistake was all it took to destroy her happy paradise.
Many thunderous clouds blew, and those dizzy eyes couldn’t stand strong.
In delusion, she walked deeper inside the pitch-black cyclone…
For 3 whole annum, she followed her instincts… just a bit too long.

Furthermore, within the cyclone a tornado brewed…
Left atop the mountain, she saw all her jungle-mates go.
She followed them down, spoilt those lovely eyes…
Nothing was ever the same, except the bear she always knew.

Meanwhile, at the plains, the dust finally came out;
That girl’s vivacious brown eyes stared in disbelief’
For her heart not only loved one…
Instead, her arch-enemy was a new relief!

Forced to choose between the fire and the ice,
That girl struggled; her brown eyes begged clarity.
She entrusted herself to her recollections and dreams,
But never actually found peace or familiarity.

Throughout this journey, she had a gang at her side.
Called “The Brown-Eyes”, its members were four…
Each was different, with contrasting personas;
I wonder how they still stick together, despite everything, awaiting more!

Those are her pillars, people she blindly trusts.
Without them, her cool brown eyes would stop to sparkle or shine.
The hope and optimism in her would be lost in an abyss…
Success may come, but nothing would ever be just fine.

Finally, one  day, the sky was just cloudy;
The cyclone had stopped… Still, that girl was unsatisfied.
Those cheerful brown eyes craved the Sun,
And that’s why she tried to do the mystified…

Unfortunately, before she could do this courageous act,
The pillars cracked a bit and what she saw was crushing;
For the first time, those hurt brown eyes turned malicious upon seeing the truth…
The boy did not value her love, his feelings were still unsure; just nothing!

Nope, she couldn’t choose the other love… too late.
Instead, she repaired the cracked pillars with forgiveness.
Ah! Those lovely brown eyes still smile at those bitter-sweet memories…
She doesn’t regret anything, those times were full of craziness.

Now that girl has started a life on a fresh page.
That thirst for life, as well as the stars, is like an eternal fire…
Her passionate brown eyes yearn an adventure every now and then…
But what remains unchanged, is her ever-ambitious desire:

The desire to try and experience EVERYTHING.

That girl is beautiful and intelligent.
That girl had her hopes and expectations crushed.
That girl had been betrayed.
That girl had been bullied.
That girl’s trust has been broken several times.
That girl has had her heart broke. Twice.
That girl has experienced all sorts of downs…….. along with ups.
That girl finally found great friends whom she can trust.
That girl has mastered the art of forgiving and letting go.
That girl has learnt the importance of making mistakes and cherishing them.
That girl has ended up with several bitter-sweet memories but is satisfied because all of them were results of her own choices, choices which she had made with her own better judgement.
That girl is yet to find her true soulmate.
That girl has a thirst for adventure.
That girl is passionate about her dreams.
That girl loves herself and her life the most.
That girl is……… Unknown.

That girl is just like……. Every girl.
